DENVILLE REVIEWS PLAN FOR 55-UNIT APARTMENT COMPLEX

“Denville officials are reviewing an apartment complex proposal for a block of land where Route 53 intersects the Mt. Tabor Train Station.

The site in question, seen as the entry into Denville, is currently home to a dental office, a Chinese take-out restaurant and the abandoned Redmond Press factory.

The township had its eye on making improvements to the area as far back as 2000 when the Denville’s master plan was made. At that time, officials said the plots, zoned as either industrial or business, should be the focus of a study “on ways to upgrade this important gateway into Denville,” according to the master plan.

Interest in the area was low until a couple of years ago when Donnelly Construction approached with a proposal of a development project for 55 high-end, luxury homes there.”
