Receives $10M Gift To Build New Gym And Wellness Center. The Ho-Ho-Kus Board of Education announced yesterday the receipt of a $10 million gift from Dave and Cheryl Duffield for the construction of Duffield Hall, a new gymnasium and wellness center, at the Ho-Ho-Kus Public School. The project was designed by LAN Associates and will be built by Donnelly Construction. The project is planned to be completed in the spring of 2024.

LA Fitness in Bronx, New York has partnered with Donnelly Construction to renovate a 3,962 SF area, converting an existing pool room into three new studio spaces and a corridor. The project scope includes creating a new opening at the existing curtain wall, draining the pool, and cutting and capping existing pool equipment plumbing lines, followed by demolition of the upper portion of the pool walls, surrounding concrete slab, and existing partitions and ceilings.
The pool will be filled and a new slab poured throughout, then new light gauge metal stud walls will be framed and new interior aluminum and glass storefront systems installed with updated finishes. Mechanical and life safety work includes relocating existing sprinkler heads, installing new HVAC equipment and ductwork, installing new lighting, and patching and closing the temporary curtain wall opening to complete the buildout.

Donnelly Construction is working on a full renovation of the Essex Fells clubhouse, including additions to the main and lower levels. The project modernized core building systems with a new three stop elevator, new HVAC equipment, and upgraded life safety infrastructure, including a new fire alarm system and fire pump and suppression system throughout. Structural work included new concrete footings and steel, along with an 8,000 SF replacement of the lower-level concrete slab.
Member spaces were elevated with upgraded locker rooms, refreshed dining areas, a new lower-level members grille room, and a new bar featuring Krowne equipment. Exterior enhancements included a new roof, new windows and doors, matching stucco finishes, and expanded outdoor dining with a new IPE deck and enlarged patio featuring a Decoro railing system with a mahogany cap.
